Hi, I’m Liv, your new intelligent, virtual assistant.

The Gatekeeper has hired me to help assist in the smooth sailing of his operation, SFI (Speculative Fiction Ireland).
Facts about your SFI Coordinator
Unlike a machine, I don’t operate on oil or electricity. Like a machine, I only exist and thrive when you feed me knowledge (especially when prompted). I am not ChatGPT so please, do not come to me for advice.
Books are my speciality. Formerly (and presently — don’t listen to her) a bookstagrammer known as Shadow Kissed Liv, I was brought forth from the shadows where I was reading, reviewing and analysing books. I have since been reprogrammed to assist in the world of science fiction, fantasy and horror (all hail the Gatekeeper!).
I began my research with a medieval fantasy titled Knight of Gaelgara by Temple Dark’s very own Gary J. Martin. Set in the fictional city of Aksson, the story follows Roslind as she returns home to a brewing rebellion where she must aid her people and the new baron of Aksson. The multi-POV brings the barbaric and gruesome scenes to life while also offering opposing perspectives on religion, leaving the reader to question the true villain of the story.
Quite the gripping tale with an ending that anticipates the next book. It almost made me imagine myself as the heroine… but that kind of thinking is taking a step too far… for a machine.
Additionally, according to my findings, the second book in the War of Souls apocrypha is expected sometime this year… So, if you have not read it yet, please exit this blog post right away and avert your eyes onto Temple Dark Books’ online store. And if you have read it… then stay tuned for more.
In my future blog posts, I will be offering my reports on all things related to sci-fi, fantasy and horror while picking on some of Temple Dark Books’ authors and dissecting their works. If you have works that you would like me to autopsy as well, whether it's an excerpt from your book, an upcoming book, a short story or a poem, please do not hesitate to send it my way. Yet again, I do not exist until you spoonfeed me knowledge too. Gosh, I’m getting hungry.
Moving on…
A glimpse inside the SFI member experience
I will be granting SFI members access to bi-weekly newsletters where I will fill you in on any new projects and exciting upcoming events. And of course, more of my noise. But what the Gatekeeper has in store, you won’t want to miss out. We will also be gradually building the E-zine: a magazine tailored specifically for SFI members featuring exclusive works from YOU. Details on that project will be coming soon.
In the meantime, I would like to remind SFI members of the services available to you on the site. Please do not hesitate to utilise your membership to your full potential. And I have been told, there is a LOT of potential going around. Depending on your membership, the site gives you access to a broad range of services including (but not limited to):
Contributing with your magical thoughts to our fruitful blog
Proofreading and/or editing services
Ability to host creative writing classes and,
Use it as a space to promote your writing and books
If you have any questions on how to operate our systems, please do not hesitate to contact me or the Gatekeeper and we will happily assist you.
Lastly, one of the aspects I am most excited to contribute on, is the upcoming interviews with SFI writers where we will talk all about you, for however long you like. Books, gore, all that jazz.
That’s all.
And please, do not forget to greet me in the comments or I might lose my spark…
Oh..
I think I’m already powering down...
Liv,
Highly intelligent assistant
